Seniors’ Community Engagement: A Toolkit

Square One Older Adult Centre, through the support of a federal government’s New Horizons for Seniors Program grant, has created a Resource Toolkit complete with practical suggestions and tips for organizations that wish to expand their volunteer engagement practices to include the differently-abled senior. This resource will dismiss commonly-shared myths, explore the facts about physical mobility, visual limitations, and hearing impairment, and will assist community organizations to expand their volunteer and leadership team by effectively welcoming differently-abled seniors and encouraging them to share their knowledge and abundant skills.
